Construction Complete: 2023
Alta Verde is the next affordable rental housing project that will come online in the Town of Breckenridge in 2023. In August of 2019, the Town hired Gorman & Company to pursue the 9% Low Income Housing Tax Credit (LIHTC). In May of 2020, Gorman received the 9% LIHTC award from CHFA. The 9% LHTC award makes it possible for Alta Verde to achieve rental rates as low as 60% AMI and below. In addition, The Town also received a $650,000 grant for solar panels from DOLA that The Town will match. The project goal is to achieve net zero designation, which means the total amount of energy used by the building on an annual basis is equal to the amount of renewable energy created on the site. Alta Verde project construction started in Spring 2021 and project completion is scheduled for Winter 2023.
